I sponsor the Honors Club at Northwest Elementary School.  This club is open to students in grades six-eight that maintain a 3.0 GPA on their grade cards and good behavior in all classes.  Throughout the school year, Honors Club members participate in service activities.  At the end of the year, a field trip rewards these students for their hard work.  This past year, we traveled by a chartered bus to Asheville, North Carolina, and visited the beautiful Biltmore Estate.
