Cosby School

Located adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is Cosby School.  Unique to today's society, Cosby is a kindergarten through twelfth grade school.  With the interest of the rural student in mind, Cosby's goal is to educate and facilitate a positive learning experience.

Presently, Cosby community is the fastest growing community in Cocke County.  Keeping pace with society, Cosby School has expanded.  A two story facility with approximately 60,000 sq. ft. has been added housing state of the art vocational classrooms and shops, home economics room, chemistry lab, band room, chorus room, health and science technology classrooms and six regular classrooms.

Cosby School has an elementary principal and a high school principal with an assistant principal serving K-12.  Future plans are to have a distinct elementary and high school located on the campus.  Plans are underway for renovation of the existing building adding a computer lab, separating the library to an elementary library and a high school library, and adding additional elementary classrooms.

In athletics the Cosby Eagles actively participate in football, boys and girls basketball, baseball, and softball.  Cosby has had numerous play-off tournaments in all sports.  With the addition of the high school band we have strived to give students a variety of activities in which to participate.

Cosby has many clubs for the socially oriented students.  Key Club, Beta Club, Spanish Club, FFA, and Student Council are just a few of the choices.  Each club works to improve the school and community.

It is the goal of Cosby School to provide students with a well-rounded education, academically, athletically, and socially.  These qualities help make Cosby a great school that incorporates the needs of the students, community, parents, and faculty.  We believe these objectives will stand our students in good stead in this 21st century.

Recently, Cosby School has been divided into two schools (Elementary and High School).  They still exist in the same location and share a number of areas and activities.
