Making the Grade

Standard

Students may retake a different form of any quiz or test with an unsatisfactory grade in order to improve their average.

***There are a few catches:
            1. Must be done before or after school.
            2. Must take a different form but same
                content.
            3. If the retake is lower, the highest grade is
                retained
            4. You may only retake each quiz or
                test one time.

College Prep

The grade is figured as a weighted average with assessments figuring in as 70% of the average and practice assignments figuring in as 30% of the average.

Assessments may take the form of quizzes, tests, writing assignments, projects, memory work, computer lab assignments, or additional other assignments as designated in class.

Practice assignments may be homework or class work in the form of study questions, puzzles, or worksheets.

Not all practice assignments may be graded. Some work assigned is simply necessary to developing skills.

Honors

The grade is also figured as a weighted average with assessments figuring in as 70% of the average and practice assignments figuring in as 30% of the average.

Assessments may take the form of quizzes, tests, writing assignments, projects, memory work, or additional other assignments as designated in class. Formal essays receive two grades each. Rewrites receive a homework grade.

Practice assignments may be homework or class work in the form of study questions, puzzles, worksheets, or other assignments as deemed necessary.
