English I College Preparatory

The purpose of College Prep
English is to provide students
with the skills necessary to succeed
in higher level English courses and,
eventually, college. The course
focuses on essential reading and
writing skills featured on
standardized assessments as well
as essay writing.

Reading with purpose and focus is
important especially in upper level
classes and is a skill we will seek to
develop in our class.

College Prep students are expected to complete a high level of work. Students should expect homework which includes reading outside the classroom from textbooks as well as additional novels.
