Rules and Class Expectations

Rules

1. Be in your assigned seat and ready to begin class when the tardy bell rings.

2. The bell does NOT dismiss class; the teacher does. Remain seated until you
    are dismissed.

3. Grooming has no place in the classroom. Therefore, hair brushing and
application of cosmetics (including lotions or perfumes) is prohibited.

4. Chewable substances are prohibited in the classroom. CCHS has a policy
against chewing gum which I DO enforce, but this also applies to candy
    or straws.

5. There is no talking during the moment of silence or afternoon
    announcements.

6. Students should remain in the classroom throughout the class period. Do
not ask to visit your locker, the restroom, the telephone, guidance, or
    another classroom.

7. Bring all necessary materials to class.

Class Expectations

1. Assignments should be completed when students come to class, NOT
completed during the class in which they are due.

2. Assignments must be turned in when requested during the class period
unless otherwise specified by the teacher. Late work is unacceptable. I
reserve the right to refuse any assignment submitted after the due date.

3. Students are expected to listen, take notes, and participate during class.

4. Students are expected to complete their own work.

5. Following directions is essential. Failure to do so will result in an
    automatic grade reduction.

6. Make up work is a student's individual responsibility. Students should
fill out a makeup request form upon his/her return to class - NOT DURING
    CLASS.

7. Students should make up tests and quizzes before or after school by
    appointment.

8. Students should take Accelerated Reader test and visit the library on their
own time. The school library and computer lab are open from 8:00-3:30
    each day.

9. Discipline measures will follow the CCHS Discipline Code and may include
penalties, office referrals, in school suspension, after school detention, calls
to parents, formal parent conference, or a ban from the library or computer
lab during my class. Other measures will be employed as deemed necessary.
